FSU graduate in cap and gown celebrating at Westcott Fountain during golden hour in Tallahassee
Quick Answer

The best FSU graduation photo spots are Westcott Fountain, the Unconquered Statue, the Florida State Arch, and Legacy Walk. Sessions with Kenny Hill Photo start at $325 and run 1–1.5 hours. The key to a smooth, crowd-free session: book 4–6 weeks before graduation to beat the crowds and the heat.

4 Spots That Make an FSU Grad Photo Actually Worth Framing

I've shot 200+ FSU sessions across campus. These are the four locations that consistently deliver, and how to time each one so you're not sharing the shot with three other grad groups.

1. Westcott Fountain

Best for: the classic, unmistakably-FSU shot.

Westcott is the shot every FSU grad wants, and it shows. During peak spring season, lines start forming before 8am and stretch down the street well past 6pm. The fountain, the columns, and the light bouncing off the water make it the single most photogenic square foot of campus.

Pro tip: Book early in the season to skip the crowds altogether. If you're booking closer to graduation, grab an early morning slot, since Westcott wait times can stretch past an hour once the afternoon rush hits.

2. The Unconquered Statue

Best for: celebrating your favorite FSU game day memories.

The Unconquered Statue is where a lot of FSU grads spent their Saturdays cheering on the team. It's the perfect spot to commemorate everything game days meant during your time at Florida State.

Pro tip: Pairs perfectly with the FSU Spear add-on, or go all-in with a rental piece from our Tallahassee Vintage collab for an extra-iconic frame.

3. The Florida State Arch

Best for: wide shots that take in the whole stadium.

No FSU graduation shoot is complete without a stop here. It's one of the most iconic backdrops on campus, and one you'll want in your gallery right alongside Westcott and the Unconquered Statue.

Pro tip: This spot fills up fast too. Book early in the season if you can, since wait times here can stretch into hours as graduation gets closer.

4. Legacy Walk

Best for: soft, even light any time of day.

When the sun is high and Westcott is blown out, Legacy Walk's oak canopy is the move. It's also the easiest spot to fit a group of five or six without anyone squinting.

Pro tip: This is an underrated spot that almost never has a line. It's also home to the newly placed FSU letters, a great way to stand out from everyone else's grad photos.

What to Wear

What to Wear for FSU Graduation Photos

Guys typically go with a dress shirt and suit jacket, while girls often choose a white dress of some kind. Honestly, I've seen just about every combination work.

Your outfit

Wear whatever you'd like to be photographed in, whether that's a dress, a suit, or a jersey. We'll grab a few shots in the gown, but most of the session will be in your outfit of choice.

Colors to avoid

Steer clear of Gator blue and orange, or Miami orange and green. We love you, but we're not photographing enemy colors on graduation day.

Shoes

Bring a backup pair of flats or sandals. Westcott's steps and Legacy Walk's grass are rough on heels.

Accessories

Bring along anything that tells your story: a necklace, Honor Cords, pins, medallions, even a bottle of champagne. If it says something about who you are, I'd love to capture it.
